The game features a 50’s American diner theme and is identical to Donuts, apart from the fact that all Donuts-related things have been changed to Burgers. We are writing this review before having eaten breakfast, and it’s becoming annoying to look at these fast food burgers.  

Burgers can be played on most common mobile devices and desktops. A winning combination is made by landing 3 or more matching higher-paying symbols or 4 lower-paying symbols on consecutive reels, starting from the leftmost reel. 

The lower-paying symbols consist of 9, 10, J, Q, K, and A. A winning combination of 4 with one of these pays 0.4x-0.6x the bet. The higher-paying symbols include burgers colored green, blue, red, and purple. Four-of-a-kind with these pays 0.8x-2x the bet. Wild symbols, Scatter symbols, and various Multiplier symbols are also available, but more on that in a bit.

Wild Symbols enable more winning combinations by substituting for other paying symbols. These can only appear on reels 2, 3, and 4. 

Bonus Reel

Under the regular grid, the Bonus Reel can be seen. Tomatoes, lettuce, onions, and ice cubes are available with 10x/8x, 5x/4x, 3x/2x, and 2x multipliers, respectively. Multipliers from tomatoes, lettuce, and onions are added to any Burger symbol above on the same reel, and the ice cube is added to Wild symbols.

Free Spins

Burgers Slot Conclusion

We’re usually quite harsh on re-skins, as we don’t think that they add a whole lot to the table. So when we saw the logo of this game, we got slightly worried, but two things calmed us down: buns and burgers. No, the first thing is that this is not actually a re-skin. In fact, it’s almost the opposite of what a re-skin is. A re-skin would use the same mechanics as a previous game and change the visuals. Burgers changes the mechanics (although similar in its core) but uses an identical frame as Donuts, just with new graphics. Secondly, BTG is one of the few providers from which we would actually like to see some re-skins. The reason for that is that old BTG games are not so modern. They have no bonus buys or extra bets, and you can’t even click to skip win animations. Some players may prefer that, but implementing those things more might put BTG back on track and allow them to reach high heights again. 

Enough talk about the past and future potential. What do we think about this particular release? Well, it’s certainly BTG-esque, and it might as well have been released in 2019. Not in a negative way, though. There are enough super-advanced slot games out there to leave room for these simpler games. And the thing with BTG is that they make simple games fun, and they make them volatile. So, while Burgers is not the most innovative game of all time, it’s nostalgic yet refreshing.
