Emperor’s Rise Slot Overview

Emperor’s Rise is a casino slot from Slotmill that may give players quite a dejavú. Because only a few weeks ago, Tyrant’s Fall was released. It was a game in which we traveled to Rome, where a tyrant ruled and offered walking Wilds with up to 100x multipliers. Emperor’s Rise, however, seems to be somewhat of a prequel, as we get to follow an emperor’s rise to power in what appears to be a slightly less volatile game. Less volatile could sound unappealing to some, but in this case, it creates a smoother experience, and we’re excited about giving you the full walkthrough. Let’s dig in!

Emperor’s Rise is a video slot from Slotmill with a setup of 5 reels, 3 rows, and 20 paylines. Players can choose between making a Min.bet of 0.20 and a Max.bet of 60. The game has a solid RTP of 96.08%. Lastly, Emperor’s Rise is played at medium/high volatility and can net you a max win of 6000x the bet.

The path to power can be dangerous, but the mechanics of this game can also make it very lucrative. The features of Emperor’s Rise are Wild Symbol, Multiplier Wild Symbols, Free Spins, Super Free Spins, Feature Buy, and Xtra-Bet.

Emperor’s Rise Slot Information

Similar to the Zeus mode in Zeus vs Hades, Emperor’s Rise has a brighter and bluer vibe than Tyrant’s Fall. Some may like the darker themes, but we do like this one better. It feels more welcoming and pleasing to look at, so 1-0 Emperor’s Rise.

Emperor’s Rise can be played on all common mobile devices and desktops. A winning combination is created by landing 3 or more matching symbols on consecutive reels within the game’s lines, starting from the leftmost reel.

The lower-paying symbols consist of J, Q, K, and A. Five-of-a-kind with these pays 3.5x-6x the bet. The higher-paying symbols include some sort of bracelet, grapes, dagger/sword, wreath, and the emperor. A full line of 5 with one of these symbols pays 14x-40x the bet. Scatter symbols and Wild symbols with multipliers can also land, but more on that in a bit.

Wild Symbol

Wild symbols enable more winning combinations by substituting for other paying symbols.

Multiplier Wild Symbols

Two Wild symbols can appear on any spin and there is a chance that they will have a multiplier on them. The value of the multiplier can be 2, 3, 5, or 20. When this feature occurs, the Wild symbols move to a random reel position.

Free Spins

The Free Spins feature is triggered by landing 3 or more Scatter symbols. You start with 5 Free Spins and two Roaming Multiplier Wild symbols, which remain throughout the feature and move to a new position before each new spin.

Your mission will be to collect Scatter symbols (flags). You’ll start off with 3, 4, or 5 steps done on the progress bar, depending on whether you triggered the bonus with 3, 4, or 5 Scatters. When you complete a level, the Wilds upgrade as follows:

Stage 2: Collect 6 Bonus Symbols in total to gain 5 additional Free Spins with 2x Multiplier Roaming Wilds.

Stage 3: Collect 9 Bonus Symbols in total to gain 5 additional Free Spins with 3x Multiplier Roaming Wilds.

Stage 4: Collect 13 Bonus Symbols in total to gain 5 additional Free Spins with 5x Multiplier Roaming Wilds.

Stage 5: Collect 17 Bonus Symbols in total to gain 5 additional Free Spins with 20x Multiplier Roaming Wilds.

Landing a single Bonus Maximus symbol during Free Spins upgrades it into Super Free Spins.

Super Free Spins

Super Free Spins are either triggered by landing one Bonus Maximus symbol in the regular bonus or by landing 3+ Scatter symbols, including one Bonus Maximus symbol, in the base game.

The Super Free Spins bonus works identically to the regular bonus, but 4 Multiplier Roaming Wilds are active instead of 2, greatly increasing your chance of creating some juicy lines.

300x = Triggers the Super Free Spins feature.

Xtra-Bet

The Xtra-Bet can be activated at an extra cost of 50% of your bet. Increasing your chance to trigger Free Spins by 2.6x.

Emperor’s Rise Slot Conclusion

It’s somewhat of a unique release this. It obviously doesn’t feel like a brand-new game, as the mechanics are identical to those of Tyrant’s Fall, but it goes to show how big of a difference math and numbers make in a slot game. Now, a slot game is a slot game, and it’s not designed to make you win. Despite that, some slots sometimes feel “better” than others, even though they have the same RTP and everything. And for us, Emperor’s Rise just feels more rewarding than Tyrant’s Fall, likely due to its toned-down volatility. Two wilds in the regular bonus instead of 1 and 4 instead of 2 in the super bonus, of course, make it easier to make connections. This comes at the cost of a lower maximum multiplier, so Emperor’s Rise won’t have the same firepower, but it’ll feel more consistent.

One significant change between the two games is that the Super Bonus Hunt feature that we saw introduced in Tyrant’s Fall was not used here. We were curious and asked Slotmill about the reasoning, and they explained that the Super Bonus Hunt is the most volatile feature buy they’ve ever made, and it didn’t feel in line with the rest of this game, which makes perfect sense. Instead, we have the Multiplier Wild Symbols buy, potentially giving you some juicy line hits or perhaps triggering the Free Spins.

It’ll be interesting to see how Emperor’s Rise is received. We love volatility in its most extreme forms, but there was still something about this game that made us enjoy it more than Tyrant’s Fall. Perhaps you will as well!

Emperor’s Rise by Slotmill is a toned-down version of Tyrant’s Fall but equally exciting, if not even more.
