Flame Busters Slot Overview

Flame Busters is a casino slot from Thunderkick in which we team up with Roasty McFry and his Flame Buster buddies to save tenants and a cat from a burning building. It’s a game with a really retro look, where you can really see the pixels. However, its innovative features leaves a refreshing aftertaste, and the game doesn’t feel as old as it looks. Nonetheless, we understand those who are not appealed by the graphics, but let’s see if the gameplay can convince you!

Flame Busters is a video slot from Thunderkick with 5 reels, 3 rows, and 243 payways. Players can choose from a wide range of bet sizes with a Min.bet of 0.10 and a Max.bet of 100. The game has an RTP of 96.1%, placing it just above the industry average on that metric. It’s played at high volatility, and can net you a max win of 5280x the bet!

Becoming a good firefighter takes years of practice, but some intriguing mechanics will provide you with a shortcut. The features are Wild Symbol, Scatter Symbol, Fire Symbol, Fire Drill, and Free Spins.

Flame Busters Slot Information

The game takes place by a tall building, overlooking a skyline. We don’t actually know, but we like to imagine that it’s New York. Our architect knowledge may be limited, but the building on the left looks a lot like the Empire State Building. Following the retro theme, a funky tune plays, reminiscent of a Mario soundtrack or alike. Although the graphics make the game look very old school, Thunderkick has worked well with colors to produce a nice-looking, unique slot game.

Flame Busters can be played on all common mobile devices and desktops. A winning combination is created by landing 3 or more matching symbols on consecutive reels, starting from the leftmost reel.

The lower-paying symbols consist of various coins. Five-of-a-kind with one of these will pay 1.5x-2x the bet. The higher-paying symbols include a dragon, robot, ogre, wizard, and firefighter. A winning combination of 5 with one of these pays 3x-10x the bet. Wild symbols substitutes for all of the symbols above, and a red fire alarm acts as a Scatter used to trigger the Free Spins feature. If fire occurs on one or more positions, a symbol will be shown underneath. This is called a mystery symbol.

Flame Busters Slot Conclusion

So what do we make of this retro-style creation? We think it’s a lot of fun. It’s certainly a weird theme, and we’re not entirely sure why there’s dragons and wizards in the building, but we have learned not to ask too many questions when it comes to thematics in slots. Going into the game, we were slightly worried that the gameplay would feel as retro as the slot looks, but it really doesn’t. The animations are smooth and the spins doesn’t feel too static, so no worries there. Nonetheless, the game is not very pretty to look at, but that’s all subjective and we bet there’s tons of retro-lovers out there.

Although visuals and all that is very important, the features’ fun level is number one. Thankfully, it’s really high in this one. A downside with many games is that the bonus game is tons of fun, but the base game doesn’t hold up. That could’ve been the case here, but the Fire Drill saves the day. We had some really solid base game hits in our playthrough by getting lucky with the Mystery symbols, and that makes the game feel more complete. Slot sessions are spent mainly in base games, so it’s a huge bummer when that isn’t enjoyable. Nonetheless, the game peaks in the Free Spins feature, where some crazy potential can be unlocked if you manage to progress to the latter stages.

Flame Busters by Thunderkick features a unique, retro design and modern features with immense potential.
