Honey Hunters Slot Overview

Honey Hunters is a casino slot from Print Studios in which this highly innovative studio once again impresses us with exciting ways to go about a slot game.

Few things excite us more than new Print Studios releases. Despite running a relatively small operation and not having the same resources as some of the big actors, they impress us time and time again with phenomenal themes and never-seen-before mechanics. Furthermore, they don’t release games very often, so when they do, our expectations have been brewing. Last up was Tarasque, a huge grid slot with a whole backstory as an intro, bringing something unique to the table. This time, we return to a classic 5x3 grid, but trust us; Print has innovated in other ways.

Deepak Bhinder, Lead Mathematician at Print Studios, had this to say:

Crafting the math for this game was like mapping a treasure-filled cavern - complex yet thrilling. We ventured beyond the traditional, embracing a 243 ways game to diversify the player’s journey. The challenge? Weaving the intricate web of payways with the rewarding layers of our symbol spreading feature. It’s a delicate balance, a dance of numbers where every step is calculated. What makes this game stand out is the progressive honey meter - it’s not just a feature; it’s a strategic reserve, a honey pot of RTP that players can tap into over time. This isn’t just a slot game; it’s a quest for sweetness where persistence is richly rewarded. Trust me, the grind towards the super bonus is a path well worth exploring.

Honey Hunters is a video slot from Print Studios with a setup of 5 reels, 3 rows, and 243 payways. Players can choose between making a Min.bet of 0.10 and a Max.bet of 100. The game has a default RTP of 96.55%, but because of the game’s mechanics, it will differ a bit depending on your current progress. Honey Hunters is played at mid/high volatility and can net you a max win of 10000x the bet.

As spoiled by the title, honey is what you’ll be looking for in this one. The features of Honey Hunters are Wild Symbol, Spreading Feature, Wheel Feature, Free Spins, Honey Forge, and Feature Buy.

Honey Hunters Slot Information

We’re back to a more basic setting after the grand views of Tarasque. However, Print Studios’ eye for detail is as good as ever, with sharp symbols that feel alive and satisfying animations. With that said, we do get to climb a big stone troll in the bonus, so it’s not all honey and bees.

Honey Hunters can be played on all common mobile devices and desktops. A winning combination is created by landing 3 or more matching symbols on consecutive reels, starting from the leftmost reel.

The lower-paying symbols consist of blue flower, yellow flower, orange flower, and purple flower. A winning combination of 5 with these pays 0.4x the bet. The higher-paying symbols include Stinger Steve, Aphid Alan, Petal Paladin, Nectar Nomad, and Cardinal Chief. Five-of-a-kind with these pays 1x-20x the bet. Wilds, Scatters and honey in various forms are also available, but more on that in a bit.

What features are available in the slot Honey Hunters?

The features of Honey Hunters are Wild Symbol, Spreading Feature, Wheel Feature, Free Spins, Honey Forge, and Feature Buy.

Free Spins bonus game with a big paying winning combo.

Wild Symbol

Wild symbols enable more winning combinations by substituting for other paying symbols. Any symbol covered in honey acts as a wild.

Spreading Feature

Any Wild with a premium symbol within will spread a random number of that premium symbol on the grid. If a symbol spreads to a spreading frame, additional premium symbols will be spread (similar to Holy Hand Grenade).

Wheel Feature

Any time a symbol carrying honey lands, the wheel feature can be triggered at random. You can either land on a wedge with a prize or on a blank wedge. If you land on a prize, you get to spin again, and if you land on a blank, it’s over. The following prizes are available:

Honey - An amount of honey will be added to the Honey Forge meter. The “MAX” prize will fill the meter completely.

Coins - Awards its value times the bet.

Spreading Frames - Awards a Spreading Feature spin with a guaranteed Wild and a number of spreading frames active.

Free Spins

Landing 3 or more Scatter symbols triggers the Free Spins bonus.

During Free Spins, only one type of premium symbol exists on the reels. By collecting honey, you can fill the meter on the left-hand side, upgrading your premium symbol and getting 4 extra spins per stage completed. If you land a Wild symbol, you are awarded 1 Free Spin and trigger a Spreading feature. The Wild symbol will leave a spreading frame in its position for the remainder of the current stage.

Bonus game with a winning combination of Petal Paladins.

Honey Forge

On the left hand side, a progress bar can be spotted. Landing symbols carrying honey will fill the Honey Forge meter, one feature button at a time.

When a button is filled, the corresponding feature can be activated by pressing the button at the cost of all currently saved honey. Any honey collected towards the next available feature will remain. Only the latest filled feature button is available for activation.

All Honey Forge features cost 1x the bet to unlock.

The following features are available:

One Spreading Feature with a guaranteed wild and 1-4 spreading frames.

Free Spins Bonus

Free Spins Bonus with Petal Paladin unlocked

Free Spins Bonus with Nectar Nomad unlocked

Free Spins Bonus with Cardinal Chief unlocked

Feature Buy

The Free Spins feature can be bought at a cost of 80x the bet.

Honey Hunters Slot Conclusion

It’s always fun to see what Print Studios comes out with. From tower defense in Cash Defense to intricate backstories in Tarasque, we’ve learned that although it’s hard to predict how, we can always expect them to make us wow.

In Honey Hunters, we’re not spoiled with any groundbreaking mechanics that change the way we look at slots, but we are met by features that, in all their simplicity, seem so obvious. Collecting something to turn other symbols into high-paying symbols is nothing new, and random wheels with prizes has been around for ages. But despite all of that, Honey Hunters feels fresh. In a way, it feels like a product of Holy Hand Grenade, with the spreading symbols that quickly ramp up and become huge payways. And although some may want our head for this, we feel like it takes the mechanic one step further, allowing for a more advanced take on it. We’re not saying you’ll have a better time with Honey Hunters, but definitely a different time, as more things are happening and more choices are available. Perhaps Print has tried too hard and applied too many things, but we can’t see this one failing.

Honey Hunters by Print Studios includes feature wheels, stacked symbols, and a boatload of volatility in true Print Studios-esque.
