Honey Rush Slot Overview

Honey Rush is a new casino slot from Play'n GO with a beehive-inspired hexagonal grid. You make wins by landing 5 or more symbols in a cluster anywhere on the grid. Winning symbols will disappear to make room for new ones, and you have great help from the Colony Feature that transforms up to all 37 symbols into the same one. In this game, nothing is sweeter than honey, where wild honey jars equipped with multipliers can increase your winnings up to 27 times.

Honey Rush Slot Information

The grid in Honey Rush is shaped in the same way as a honeycomb, the hexagonal prismatic wax cells bees build in their nests to contain their larvae and store honey and pollen. Every symbol is in a six-edged shape that together forms a big 6-edged shape containing 37 symbols. The first and last reels have 4 rows, while the middle has 7. To the sides of the reels are tall trees with green leaves that sometimes fall to the ground. Landing 5 or more symbols connected in a cluster anywhere on the grid makes a winning combination, and the winning symbols will disappear to make room for new ones, giving the player a chance to hit consecutive wins on the same spin. Each winning combination is displayed on a wooden scoreboard to the left of the reels. You can play Honey Rush on mobile phones, notepads, and desktop computers.

The lower-paying symbols in Honey Rush are a blue flower, a pink flower, a red rose, and a sunflower. They all pay the same, giving up to 20X the bet for a winning combination of 35 symbols. The higher-paying symbols are 3 coins in bronze, silver, and gold, and a shining diamond. Landing 35 of those in a cluster awards between 50X and 200X the bet. The Wild Symbol substitutes all symbols, and there's no Scatter Symbol in this game.

Cascading Wins

The winning symbols will vanish every time you make a win, and new ones will fall on the reels. If you can make a new win, the involved symbols will also disappear and make room for new ones. These consecutive Cascading Wins continue as long as you keep on making wins. Every winning symbol is also added to the Rush Meter, which can trigger the Colony Feature.

Wild Symbol

The Wild Symbol is a red jar full of honey. It substitutes all symbols and can only be awarded by the Rush Meter. The Wild is sticky and stays on the reels as long as you make cascading wins, moving one position on every cascade. All Wilds have a multiplier of 1X, 2X, or 3X.

Rush Meter

The Rush Meter is filled with a star for every winning symbol during a cascade, and it resets every time you make a new spin. The meter has four stages where it either awards the Drone Colony and a Sticky Wild or the Queen Colony:

20 Winning Symbols = Drone Colony + 1 Sticky Wild

40 Winning Symbols = Drone Colony + 1 Sticky Wild

80 Winning Symbols = Drone Colony + 1 Sticky Wild

160 Winning Symbols = Queen Colony

Colony Feature

The Colony Feature has three levels called Drone, Worker, and Queen. The Drone Colony is triggered by the Rush meter after landing 20, 40, and 80 winning symbols in a cascade. The Worker Colony can trigger randomly on any non-winning spin, and the Queen Colony is activated when 160 winning symbols have been collected on a consecutive win.

The Colony Feature clones the central symbol in the middle of the slot and creates a new cluster with the same symbols around the middle symbol. The Drone Colony creates a cluster of 7 symbols, the Worker Colony's cluster has 7-15 symbols, and the Queen's cluster has between 20 and all 37 symbols.

All three Sticky Wilds on the reels.

Sticky Wild Feature

The Sticky Wild Symbol is only added via the Rush Meter. It's always placed on the second ring of symbols from the outside and has a multiplier of 1X, 2X, or 3X. After forming part of a winning cluster, the Sticky Wild moves to an empty adjacent position before new symbols cascade onto the reels. The maximum number of Wilds is 3, and their multipliers are multiplied by each other if they take part in the same win, resulting in a multiplier of up to 27X.

Honey Rush Slot Conclusion

We have seen bees as the main characters in games such as Wild Swarm, Bee Hive Bonanza, and Wild Buzz. The bees in Honey Rush aren't present in the form of symbols, but the grid is designed as a honeycomb, and the Colony Feature clones symbols from the center and outwards. There are no free spins in this game, but the Colony Feature is a great bonus game. The Rush Meter is also adding up to 3 Sticky Wilds while you're making consecutive wins. It might sound incredibly hard to land 160 winning symbols in a cascade, but we experienced it more often than expected. Much thanks to the added Wilds, which help a lot in making new wins.

The fact that the Wilds carry multipliers is also beneficial. You can multiply your wins up to 27X the bet, which raises the prize sum quickly. No wonder Play'n GO labels this game with very high volatility. The RTP of 96.50% is also good, a bit over the standard slot RTP, and the max win of 9000X the bet is very appealing, although you can find games with several times higher max wins.

Honey Rush from Play'n GO has an innovative slot grid in the shape of a honeycomb, awarding wins when symbols land in clusters.
