Playtech Review
Playtech was founded back in 1999 by Teddy Saigi in Estonia, making it one of the oldest actors in the game today. But with age comes wisdom, and today, Playtech is a billion-dollar company. Despite that, we don’t really regard Playtech as a mainstream provider. Their focus is not on super innovative mechanics and crazy graphics but on simplicity and constantly releasing new games. In terms of revenue, Playtech would certainly make a top 3 if we were to rank slot providers, so their strategy is clearly working wonders.

What makes Playtech sometimes look like a not-so-innovative provider is the resemblance to land-based slot machines. This makes total sense, as Playtech has quite a presence in land-based casinos and betting shops in the UK, and not only online as many of its competitors. With that said, it seems that Playtech is trying to shift its focus a bit, applying more mainstream mechanics to its games and appealing to a broader audience. Sweet N Juicy is a great example of that, offering a more explosive experience with modern features.
We may sound a bit contradictive now, but we are also fond of the Cash Collect series from Playtech, which has become somewhat of a flagship title. They’ve released plenty of games with the mechanic by now, but there’s something about the simplicity and how feature-stacked they are that makes them super enjoyable.
Lastly, one of Playtech’s most significant selling points is the famous people and shows they’ve collaborated with. The one we are most fond of is Roberto Carlos Sporting Legends. Not necessarily because of the game itself, but because of the fact that we had the pleasure of conducting an interview with the man himself on our live stream. Other titles of similar nature include Deadliest Catch and Rocky, to name a few.
If you want to try out their games, we have demo versions on most slot reviews!
Playtech Conclusion
Playtech has become such a major player that it’s hard to see them falling off anytime soon. Making it in this industry comes a lot down to financing and having a strong position with powerful contacts, and Playtech has just that. Their games may not be voted game of the year, but they come in plenty with interesting themes and famous characters.
