ICE Barcelona 2025: A Landmark Event for the iGaming Industry

This week, the global iGaming industry experienced a historic moment as the ICE expo, the most significant event in the gaming world, took place outside London for the first time. The three-day event at the Fira Barcelona Gran Via drew an unprecedented audience of 55,000 participants, setting a new benchmark for attendance and impact.

A Record-Breaking Event

With 1,000 exhibitors covering an area of 120,000 square meters, ICE 2025 highlighted innovation and excellence in the iGaming business. Attendees were invited to explore cutting-edge technologies, products, and solutions that will shape the gaming industry’s future. The event was sold out, and Clarion Gaming has already opened a waiting list for the 2026 edition.

Barcelona was selected as the host city following a six-month bidding process, which included proposals from Madrid, Paris, and London. The decision was based on over 30 variables, including world-class facilities, outstanding hospitality infrastructure, and scalability. The move represents a five-year commitment from 2025 to 2029.

The relocation to Barcelona created an excellent environment for intense networking, sharing ideas, and launching transformative products. Visitors were greeted with new features such as the Skywalk, an elevated pathway allowing seamless navigation of the expansive exhibition floor.

ICE also introduced ICE AI, a tool designed to enhance the attendees’ experiences by providing customized information about the exhibition. This information would let everyone know what was going on and ensure that they didn’t miss any opportunities.

The iGB Affiliate

Together with ICE, the iGB Affiliate Convention was taking place. The event contributed to ICE’s success, thanks to 250 exhibitors, which attracted over 8,000 iGaming affiliates and technology providers.

New Features and Enhanced Experiences

Barcelona’s state-of-the-art venue allowed Clarion Gaming to introduce exciting new features and improve existing ones. The newly launched ICE Association Assembly promoted its values and explored opportunities across various sectors and regions.

ICE VOX, the event’s hallmark conference, has been rebranded as The World Gaming Forum (WGF). Located in the center of the venue, the WGF now includes the World Regulatory Briefing, the Casino & Leaders Conference, and the Esports & Games Conference.

The WGF also introduced premium features such as a club-style VIP Lounge, a networking garden, and concierge services, enhancing the event’s accessibility and appeal to industry leaders.

A Commitment to Sustainability

The rebranded Sustainable Gambling Zone, sponsored by Flutter Entertainment, was a testament to the industry’s commitment to responsible gaming. With 26 safer gambling organizations represented, this zone emphasized the importance of player protection and the industry’s broader sustainability goals.

The Future

ICE Barcelona 2025 has set a new standard for gaming expos by bringing together international buyers, thought leaders, and innovators in unparalleled collaboration. With its successful relocation to Barcelona, ICE has entered a new chapter, reinforcing its role as the definitive global hub for the gaming industry.

We look forward to finding out what the next event will bring. If this year is any indication, the future of iGaming is brighter than ever.
