PopOk Gaming wins Rising Star in Casino Innovation

Up-and-coming iGaming content provider PopOk Gaming was awarded the prize Rising Star in Casino Innovation at the SBC Awards in Barcelona.

This was the ninth edition of the SBC Awards. Every year, hundreds of casino operators, providers, and affiliates gather to acknowledge the best in the business. Over 40 winners in different categories were announced this year, with one being Rising Star in Casino Innovation.

The event took place at Palau Nacional, a beautiful building on the hill of Montjuïc in Barcelona, Spain. It’s home to the National Art Museum of Catalonia, which makes it remarkable that an iGaming organization was allowed to hold its awards there. There is still a stigma attached to the industry, but this was definitely a step in the right direction.

PopOk Gaming has been on the rise this year, releasing unique games with catchy designs and entertaining features, such as Crazy Poki and Diamond Quest. Some of these were showcased during the SBC event, receiving lots of positive remarks from attendees.

Tsovinar Elchyan, Gaming Product Manager at PopOk Gaming, said: “We are extremely thrilled to receive the SBC Awards 2022 as an innovation and a good example for all involved. It was certainly an evening to remember. Now we are even more motivated aiming for greater accomplishments.”

The Rising Star in Casino Innovation award was won by Swintt in 2021 and Rabbit Entertainment in 2020. In 2019, Yggdrasil drew the longest straw. If their following success is anything to measure by, things are looking promising for PopOk Gaming!

Betsson scores a hat-trick

Casino operator of the year was, unsurprisingly, won by Betsson Group, for the second year in a row. The Swedish company runs several successful brands, such as Thrills, Guts, and NordicBet. Betsson also made sure to make it a hat-trick by winning Best Affiliate Program and Western European Sportsbook of the Year. Earlier this year, Betsson had a clean sweep on the EGR Nordics Awards, winning pretty much everything they could.

Slot Developer of the Year was awarded to Relax Gaming, who reclaimed the throne from Pragmatic. The Swedish industry superstars released Money Train 3 just a few weeks back, which was one of the most long-awaited slots ever. It received much praise from the community, and many recognize it as the best game of all time.

Katerina Biloruska, who is a co-owner and member of the Supervisory Board at Parimatch Tech, and Chairwoman at Parimatch Foundation, won Leader of the Year. Katerina has demonstrated outstanding leadership this year, contributing to Parimatch’s business success, and had this to say:

“I am honoured to receive this recognition from one of the most prestigious awards in the industry. 2022 is a challenging year, but with the immense support from my team that turns my strategic input into real, significant, and fulfilling results we stand stronger than ever despite all challenges. I am grateful to everyone who contributed to this victory and to those who recognized our efforts. As a Leader of the Year 2022, I can only pledge that we will continue to move forward with the same determination.”

We at Aboutslots wish to congratulate all the winners at the SBC Awards, and you can find a complete list of them here.
