Q&A –Napoleon 2 FatStacks by Lucksome

In this interview with Johan John, Senior Product Manager at Lucksome, we explore the impressive upcoming release of Napoleon 2 FatStacks, a follow-up to the classic slot Napoleon: Rise of an Empire.

Hello and thank you for participating in this interview for your upcoming release of the game Napoleon 2 FatStacks.

1. Describe Napoleon 2 FatStacks in three words!

- Attack! Potential, All-Action

2. FatStacks was first introduced in the FatStacks Miami Cash slot, giving players an exciting introduction to this innovative mechanic. What inspired you to create the FatStacks mechanic?

- We’re always experimenting and on the lookout for interesting mechanics that will entertain the players. The concept for Fatstacks™ had been on our minds for a while now. We wanted something that can create some powerful wins in the base game but without making the game too dry, something that can give you that rollercoaster excitement. It should be entertaining but still showcase big win potential. The concept was tested out with FatStacks™ Miami Cash, and we received great feedback from operators and players who played it.

3. Considering the well-known first edition, what was the inspiration behind Napoleon 2 FatStacks™?

-Napoleon: Rise of an Empire by Blueprint Gaming is still a top game with players. We hadn’t done a historic theme and thought this was a great opportunity to make a follow-on to this masterpiece. Making sequels of popular games is never easy as the expectations are high, but we knew we had to keep the recognizable key elements of the original game intact: the Napoleon Streak feature and the Multiplying wilds, and the amazing achievable win potential, but we knew we needed to take everything to the next level as well to match it with the market of today – slots have moved on in 5 years!  So we put a 6 x 4 reels set up with FatStacks™ into the mix.

4. What can players expect when they visit this game? 

-We’ve captured the original look with an updated oil-painted art style and epic new audio. Our new Fatstacks™ mechanic is going to be at the core of Napoleon 2 Fatstacks™. The Napoleon Streak feature that players are familiar with is retained but now as the Napoleon Mega Streak.  Unlike the original, it can trigger in the base game as well as in the Free Games Bonus. The Streak gets a nitro-boost in this version with Fatstacks™ working inside all features, creating up to 1 million ways to win.

To trigger the streak, a special Golden Napoleon Wild lands and must contribute to a win. Here's the great news: all winning symbols and Bonus scatters freeze in place while the non-winning ones are swapped out, all while allowing FatStacking! This cycle continues until no new symbol positions are held  — a real game-changer when Bonus Symbols are in play, ramping up the odds of launching Free Games!

The next heartstopper is that in Free games, all Wilds are Golden Napoleons, which increases the chance of the Mega Streak trigger, but we added progressing wild multipliers up to 80x. So the original version is cranked up to the next level as the Wild Multipliers increase on every Golden Napoleon land.

5. Talk about impeccable timing! With your game set to launch just one day after Ridley Scott's Napoleon movie, are you secretly plotting to steal the spotlight from the film and conquer the hearts of players with your own Napoleon-themed slot adventure?

- This project has been in the works for a while, but we heard the movie was coming early, and a lot was shot in Malta.  We knew we had to get the game ready by around the same time. Will be great to share the spotlight with the movie; players and fans will enjoy and appreciate both adventures knowing what Mr. Scott is capable of, although I would probably miss having FatStacks in the script somewhere.
