The Flintstones Slot Conclusion

During the last year, we saw both The Goonies Hey You Guys and The Goonies Megaways release. Both are sequels to the original Goonies game, but sadly, we didn’t get as nostalgic as we had hoped. They are solid games both of them, but they’re very modernized, using the collect mechanic that we’ve seen a lot in Fishin’ Frenzy and Big Bass. It’s a fun mechanic, and it has grown immensely popular, but it also turns these legendary titles into something else. They sort of lose their identity and what made them stand out in the first place. Although The Flintstones is the first slot with this title, we’re getting that vibe here.

For what it is, The Flintstones is a neat game, and we do think that the collect trail is a nice touch, introducing players to the game in a smart way. The various collect symbols also help the game stand out somewhat. However, we believe that many players will have the same experience we had. You scroll through the “new games” list and get excited about seeing a game with an official title like this, only to fire it up and realize that they haven’t really done anything innovative with the product. We had just assumed that if you acquire the rights to use something like this, you’d make sure to make it a memorable game, but we believe that Blueprint Gaming has somewhat failed with that here. But hey, if you like The Flintstones and the collect mechanic, you’ll probably have an absolute blast!
