Introduction to Blueprint
Blueprint Gaming is a UK-based game studio that was established in 2001. Back then, their primary focus was on land-based casino slots, which is a product they still provide. In 2008, Blueprint was acquired by the Gauselmann Group, a leading company in the German iGaming market. This accelerated Blueprint’s growth, and in 2011, Blueprint Gaming shifted its focus to online slots. They entered the market when it started booming and are considered one of the true OGs, at least by our standards. With games like The Goonies, Primal Megaways, and Napoleon Rise Of An Empire, Blueprint was one of the hottest providers, if not the most sizzling, for a good while.
However, times have changed, and Blueprint faces significantly more competition today. For a long time, it didn’t look like they would keep up, but they’re slowly getting back to it.
Blueprint Slot Releases
We would put Blueprint’s prime era around 2018. At the time, they were one of the most prominent providers in the industry, with games such as The Goonies and Napoleon: Rise of an Empire. Their games were incredibly feature-rich, which made them stand out in the market. However, things move quickly in the iGaming market, and the provider has started facing a lot of new competition rapidly.
For a good while, we feared that Blueprint Gaming would become a thing of the past, but they’ve started to get back in rhythm. Rick and Morty, The Goonies, King Kong Cash, and other successful titles have been shown love by getting sequels, but Blueprint has also taken advantage of mainstream mechanics. Rise of Atlantis 2 is one example of a more modern game. Games like Gates of Olympus undoubtedly inspire it, but it stands on its own feet with some new features. Other than that, the Fishin’ Frenzy saga has continued, which we suspect is much due to Blueprint seeing how massively popular Pragmatic’s Big Bass series became. And that’s what it takes to stay relevant. Not necessarily copying competitors, but rather observing which mechanics are currently popular and adapting them.
If you'd like to try out their games, we have demo versions available on most slot reviews.
Final Thoughts on Blueprint
Despite adapting and trying to keep up with the times, Blueprint still has a long way to go for us to reconsider them as a top-tier provider. Their legacy helps them, though, as they remain a famous name among players. We hope that Blueprint can once again find its way back to the innovative path it once followed.
