ICE 2025 in Barcelona: Interview with Armin Aganovic

The highly anticipated ICE 2025 in Barcelona brought together key players from the iGaming industry for an event filled with innovation, networking, and exciting business opportunities. This year’s move from London to Barcelona introduced a fresh dynamic, offering a new experience for both long-time attendees and first-timers.

We had the pleasure of speaking with Armin Aganovic, Chief Revenue Officer at Joelsson Media Group, the parent company of AboutSlots and CasinoDaddy

With his extensive industry experience, Armin shared his thoughts on the event’s new location, key highlights, and the importance of networking at ICE 2025.

What were your first impressions of ICE 2025 in Barcelona?

The high energy—and I loved it. The event had an incredible tempo, and you could feel the excitement from the moment you walked in.

How did the new location at Fira Gran Via compare to previous editions in London?

Both venues are impressive in terms of size, the number of stands, and overall organization. Navigating the event and reaching the venue was smooth, which is always a plus. One major improvement was the distance between ICE and iGB, which is much more convenient than ExCeL London. This gave us extra time to meet with both new and existing partners as we collaborated with both game providers and operators. A big thumbs-up from me.

And let’s not forget the weather—being in Barcelona in January was a practical and welcome change. Not having to queue with potentially 50,000 people who might need to check in coats, scarves, gloves, and umbrellas was a small but meaningful perk.

Was there anything about the event that surprised you or exceeded your expectations?

Yes—how much easier and less time-consuming it was to move between ICE and iGB. That extra time made a real difference, allowing for more networking and valuable conversations.

Were there any specific product launches or innovations that caught your eye?

There were many impressive product launches and innovations that caught my eye, but Statsdrone’s dynamic variables truly stood out—a fantastic product and service for any iGaming affiliate working with data.

What was your favorite part of the event overall?

Definitely the networking. As much as we come to find new clients, maintaining and strengthening existing relationships is just as important.

Would you attend ICE in Barcelona again next year?

Absolutely. The event provided great opportunities to expand our network and nurture vital industry relationships, making it a valuable experience that I would eagerly participate in again next year.

If you could change one thing about ICE 2025, what would it be?
Adding color-coded badges to categorize attendees by their niche within the industry. This would improve networking by making it easier to connect with people who need your specific services or products.

What advice would you give to someone attending ICE for the first time?

Leave space in your schedule for networking! Meeting new people and building connections is just as important as the scheduled sessions.
