New game released by Evolution: Bac Bo

Evolution, one of the leading developers for online live casino games, has announced the launch of Bac Bo, a unique dice game inspired by Baccarat.

Let’s see what’s Baccarat, and how Bac Bo differs from the original game, and if you'd like to learn more about table games, visit our Casino University.

What’s Baccarat?

Baccarat is a very famous card game, so much so that it is found both in land-based casinos and in online casinos. Its operation is very simple: baccarat has very few rules and only three betting possibilities. Furthermore, contrary to popular belief, baccarat is a game suitable for everyone, although it is often referred to in cinema and literature as a pastime of the aristocratic or financial elite.

Let's move on to the rules of baccarat, which basically see only two protagonists: the dealer and the player. It should be noted, however, that a large number of players (up to 14) can intervene at each game, who can bet on the victory or defeat of the player and in some cases even on a draw.

In general, the rules of baccarat are rather schematic. In its variants, the player's freedom of choice changes more than anything else. The dealer, after shuffling the decks, deals two cards to the player and two to himself, face down. At this point the sum of the two cards is calculated: the figures are worth 10 (or 0, you will soon understand why), while the other cards have their face value.

If the cards in the dealer's possession are for example a 9 and a 6, the result is 9 + 6 = 15 and therefore we consider 5, removing the ten. If the cards are a 7 and a 3, the result is 10 = 0. The score 0, among other things, is called baccarat.

If either the dealer or the player total 8 or 9 (called "natural result"), whoever has the highest score wins: in case of identical score, the hand is considered a tie.

And what’s Bac Bo?

Bac Bo is nothing more than a simpler version of Baccarat, that instead of being played with cards, is played with dice. Precisely, the scores are made up of the sum of two dice, which are shaken automatically in individual shakers, two for each hand.

Banket and Player will roll their pair of dices, and the numbers that will turn up will be added together. As usual, the highest total wins, and if the totals are the same, the round will end with a tie, which offers payouts of up to 88 to 1.

Todd Haushalter, Chief Product Officer at Evolution, said: “Bac Bo is another unique creation from our very talented product team and developers. It blends the essence of two classic games, Baccarat and Sic Bo, and creates something entirely new and different. You get the elegant flow and excitement of a ‘come from behind win’ that makes Baccarat so popular – but with the visual excitement of a dice game.”
Haushalter added: “Whilst very much in the spirit of Baccarat, Bac Bo is a game that’s quick to understand. It has easier to follow rules and gameplay compared with Baccarat, with just the outcome of the simple dice rolls to consider. The dice rolls – and the excitement – just keep on coming!”
